Happy Holidays to all!

There were a couple of virtualization related things that made me laugh this week, and since it’s Friday I thought I would pass them along for those that might have missed them.

You Might Be A vDiva If …

Jon Owings’ post on his 2 VCPs and A Truck Blog is definitely worth the quick read. You’ll be sure to get a long laugh. The comments are as good as the post itself, so be sure to scroll all the way down. I’m betting even Jeff Foxworthy will be proud of this effort if he ever stumbles across this one.

I added several of my own vDiva-isms in Jon’s post comments. Here’s just a few I created to give you an idea of the fun:

• Your notebook is an iSCSI target
• You think SEX is a spelling error

Besides, Ugly Green Gurus don’t mind a little mud on them once in a while.

Jason Boche sent me this photo. With 2 consecutive UGH awards, Jason probably already has an annual pass at this establishment!

I wonder if any VM /ETC UGG/UGH winners actually own any UGGs?

I follow Dilbert comics mostly because no one summarizes the office place from a geek’s perspective better than Scott Adams, but every once in a while his comic touches a virtual “funny bone” with me that literally makes me wipe away tears. Maybe I find these two strips so humorous because of the timing of VMworld Europe last week or the upcoming Citrix Synergy and Microsoft TechEd conferences?

I’m not trying to point fingers at any one virtualization vendor, but as Larry the Cable Guy likes to say “I don’t care who you are. That’s funny.”

This week’s edition could be called “a thing that makes you go hmmm” since I only have a single blog post linked. This post is about why one particular blogger thinks Vista is better than Mac OS X, and how he uses virtualization as one of his arguing points. Just to set the record straight, I do not run Vista on any of my work or personal systems and I do not own a Mac. Now “Things that make you go hmmmm” will be a series of posts on VM /ETC that provide links and news related to virtualization, but that’s humorous, strange, or entertaining in nature.
