A post title like that got you attention, didn’t it?

Virtualization Humor This Week
There were a couple of virtualization related things that made me laugh this week, and since it’s Friday I thought I would pass them along for those that might have missed them.
You Might Be A vDiva If …
Jon Owings’ post on his 2 VCPs and A Truck Blog is definitely worth the quick read. You’ll be sure to get a long laugh. The comments are as good as the post itself, so be sure to scroll all the way down. I’m betting even Jeff Foxworthy will be proud of this effort if he ever stumbles across this one.
I added several of my own vDiva-isms in Jon’s post comments. Here’s just a few I created to give you an idea of the fun:
You might be a vDiva if …
- Your notebook is an iSCSI target
- You think SEX is a spelling error
- You’ve ever called your children linked clones
- You describe yourself at work as thin provisioned and over allocated
Put My Data Center In The Cloud
I found the video “A better way to cloud computing” posted on VMworld.com (and YouTube). Like a vDiva, this one needs no introduction either.
Enjoy the embedded copy below.

Image Counseling for VM /ETC UGG Winners ;)
Or maybe it’s just a cleaning service for the popular Australian boots!
Besides, Ugly Green Gurus don’t mind a little mud on them once in a while.
Jason Boche sent me this photo. With 2 consecutive UGH awards, Jason probably already has an annual pass at this establishment!
I wonder if any VM /ETC UGG/UGH winners actually own any UGGs?
Marketecture
I follow Dilbert comics mostly because no one summarizes the office place from a geek’s perspective better than Scott Adams, but every once in a while his comic touches a virtual “funny bone” with me that literally makes me wipe away tears. Maybe I find these two strips so humorous because of the timing of VMworld Europe last week or the upcoming Citrix Synergy and Microsoft TechEd conferences?

I’m not trying to point fingers at any one virtualization vendor, but as Larry the Cable Guy likes to say “I don’t care who you are. That’s funny.”
I hope there are more Marketecture strips in this series!
Things that make you go hmmmm – April 11, 2008
This week’s edition could be called “a thing that makes you go hmmm” since I only have a single blog post linked. This post is about why one particular blogger thinks Vista is better than Mac OS X, and how he uses virtualization as one of his arguing points. Just to set the record straight, I do not run Vista on any of my work or personal systems and I do not own a Mac. However, I do know enough about both operating systems and virtualization to say “hmmmm”. Read the rest of this entry »
Things that make you go hmmmm – April 4, 2008
Check out this week’s edition of entertaining, and mostly virtualization related posts and articles.
Things that make you go hmmmm – March 28, 2008
It is a saying made famous by former talk show host and comedian Arsenio Hall. It is the title of a C + C Music Factory dance hit. Now “Things that make you go hmmmm” will be a series of posts on VM /ETC that provide links and news related to virtualization, but that’s humorous, strange, or entertaining in nature. I’ll try to collect links and post them every Friday. Help me out if you find something that makes you go “hmmmm”.
So, without any further delay, pump your fist and say “Woof! Woof! Woof!” for the first set of links: Read the rest of this entry »
