KVM is also Type 2.&lt;br&gt;And it is interesting that people (Red Hat, Novell, etc) are moving away from Type 1 (Xen) to Type 2 (KVM) because PV is now a dirty word.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;2. The VirtualBox hypervisor can be used as a &lt;br&gt;- Desktop product - this is what it is most known as.&lt;br&gt;- Enterprise Desktop Server (Sun VDI) - run vm&#039;s on the server&lt;br&gt;- and even as a Server Virt hypervisor - but it needs a mgmt tool. &lt;br&gt;Now doesn&#039;t Oracle have a mgmt tool?&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;3. VirtualBox has evolved rapidly over last few years. And didn&#039;t Microsoft start on the desktop and then move to the datacenter?</description>
