VMware Partner Exchange 2010: PTAB, Tweet Ups, And Vegas. Oh My!

It’s not quite VMworld, but if you work for a VMware partner in North America chances are good your are going to Las Vegas next week for VMware Partner Exchange 2010 (PEX2010) at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. I’m sure there are more than a few that are traveling from overseas to attend as well. I’m headed out this Saturday, and a full week of PEX2010 starts for me early Sunday morning.

Follow the event posts here on VM /ETC or catch my "micro blogging" on Twitter (@rbrambley). Be sure to watch the hash tag #vmwarepex as well as the event’s twitter account @vmwarepex2010 in this Tweetgrid. Partner Exchange is always limited in what information can be made public, but there is always something interesting being talked about via social networking during the event.

If you are going to be there let me know. Here’s a quick list of what I know I will be doing next week. Maybe our paths will cross?!

If my tweets start to seem a little strange Sunday afternoon there’s nothing wrong. Check the end of this post to understand why.

PTAB

First up for me is the VMware Partner Technical Advisory Board (PTAB) meetings on Sunday and Monday. I’ve been lucky enough to participate in this invitation only, rotating membership group of VMware partners since Partner Exchange 2009. The group meets before VMware conferences and gets to interact with VMware product managers and engineers. It’s 2 days of presentations and product road maps, but VMware asks the PTAB our opinion on what we get to hear and see.  I’ll be tweeting during the meetings (Hey, that rhymes!) but probably not too much about the content and the agenda as I’m sure we’ll cover a lot of stuff that falls under a partner non disclosure agreement.

Tailgate Party

The PTAB members won’t be the only PEX2010 attendees in town early. There are VMware training boot camps scheduled Saturday through Monday, and for all of those there on Sunday afternoon Cisco and EMC are sponsoring the Tailgate Party to watch the big game. Look for plenty of Tweets and Twitpics during that event from me!

Tweet Ups

Like last year, look for an impromptu tweet up during the Monday night Conference Welcome Reception from 6 – 8 pm on the VMware Experience floor. That will be a great opportunity for everyone to get together and catch up. I wouldn’t be surprised if that spills to other locations afterwards as well.

There will also be a vExpert tweet up around 5 pm Tuesday night. Watch @jtroyer’s tweets as well as my own about the exact location as soon as one is determined.

Partner Appreciation Party

Wednesday night is the event’s official party. Look for more of the same from 6:30 to 9:30 PM as the conference starts to wind down before the final day on Thursday.
