That's funny because it's true. And it's not just IKEA. I went with my girlfriend to buy a table for our kitchen and we came back with a new bed (ours was to small), a memory foam mattress (because ours wasn't confty enough) and a whole of other stuff. Oh, and we didn't get the table.

Rich,

That was funny. I bought a small shelving unit from homedepot for my network equipment and servers but this looks like a great idea. I might just try it. Make the wife happy in the process by paying visit to IKEA!!!

Details on my virtualization lab
http://www.virtualization.net/58-building-home-virtualization-lab-on-a-budget/

Thanks,

This kind of rack is quite good according to its specification but it's still good to have a good rack enclosure equipment for more manageable and convenient place for those data center equipments.

haha happy times. I've been using one of these lack tables to sit a few of my servers.. with a switch lying haphazardly on top.. this is brilliant.. and i totally missed the obvious. lol. That the switch could be racked in between its legs.. hrm. dirty sounding. lol Anyways. Seeing the pics on lackrack has been truly inspirational. Thanks mate!

That's kind of cool..
For some reason, I think i'd want some sort of base reinforcement before mounting a couple 50 pound servers to it. And probably a shelf, since the rails would be hard to attach to that :)
