Independent IT Commentary From New Online Magazine – GestaltIT.com
I’m excited to announce that I am one of nine bloggers contributing content to a new independent online magazine. GestaltIT.com, a concept created by Microsoft MVP Stephen Foskett, is self described on it’s home page as “a “web magazine” focusing on the best in IT infrastructure content, syndicated from expert bloggers”. Look for both new, unique content from me there along with syndication of some of my posts from VM /ETC.
In case you were wondering, gestalt is generally defined (in my own words) as a group of concepts so unified that it is greater than the sum of it’s parts.
Here’s some more information from the GestaltIT FAQ page:
How does Gestalt IT work? We work with independent experts, bloggers, and writers to generate content focused on IT infrastructure topics. Many of our articles and posts are syndicated from the blogs of their authors, meaning that they select their best and most relevant work and transmit it to us using an RSS feed, just like Google Reader and other feed readers use. Posts are then formatted and edited for publication here.
What is the benefit to the reader?
Readers will get an edited view of the best content from the smartest folks in the IT infrastructure field. In this way, Gestalt IT serves as a filter, presenting key articles with no off-topic content or duplication.
Of course, readers will probably find that certain authors and blogs are especially interesting, so Gestalt IT can also help readers locate these sites. Each article includes a link to the writer’s home site or blog.
The current GestaltIT team consists of the following authors:
- Chris Evans
- Devang Panchigar
- Ed Saipetch
- Gestalt IT Staff
- Greg Ferro
- Joerg Hallbauer
- Martin Glassborow
- Rich Brambley
- Scott Lowe
- Stephen Foskett
Follow the links above to learn more about each author, see their content on GestaltIT, and get a link to their individual blogs.
Notice that there are actually 10 authors in the list? Gestalt IT Staff, the tenth author, is actually an exciting concept to me. As a team we plan to collaborate our opinions and views in posts about common infrastructure subjects relevant to the CIO, IT Manager, Architect, and Administrator.
Check out GestaltIT.com and let me know what you think! We are also open to your ideas on subjects you would like to see us cover as team. Leave me a comment on this post or send me an email if you have any topic suggestions.
