My wife and I are leaving for VMworld 2008 in Las Vegas, NV tomorrow (Sunday). I’ll be packing today, and I plan on leaving some extra room in my luggage for all the swag to bring home. I’m also looking forward to all the announcements next week. It will be interesting to find out which predictions about VMworld were based on facts and which were just expectations based on rumors.
I had a couple of golf shirts made with the VM /ETC virtually insane logo that I’ll wear some of days at the conference. If you see me please say Hello! I had some 3″ stickers made too, and I’ll stick one of those on the side of my bag or some place noticeable. I’ve got some extra stickers so if you want one let me know, or maybe you’ll see one in an unsuspecting place next week.
I plan on live blogging here on VM /ETC, contributing posts to the Virtualization Pro Blog, joining in the discussions over at VMworldUnderground, and using Twitter (everybody is tweeting so I guess I’ll see what it is all about ?!). My Twitter account is being followed by the VMworld 2008 Twitter account, and the vmetc.com rss feed is aggregated in the planet vmworldunderground.com rss feed. Of course, both the VM /ETC Blog and the Virtualization Pro Blog are aggregated in the VMware Planet V12N feed.
I’m taking my camera so I should have a Picasa Photo album started by early next week. I’ll provide a link when I set it up, but it will most likely be on my Photos page. There are photos from VMworld 2007 already there so check those out if you want to reminisce for now.
I’ve also created a !VMworld! page here on VM /ETC that provides general Las Vegas info like live weather and local time along with the Twitter feeds already mentioned above.
I’m exhausted just thinking about all that writing and media cross coverage! It should be fun!
