Thoughts so far
Partner Day seems way more crowded this year. I guess it’s a problem VMware wants to have because it is a symptom of success, but my morning as an attendee has been unpleasant. Personally I have had the following problems:
- Finding parking was tough
- The registration area was very compact and the process was slower than expected.
- The Marriott feels warm – this may be petty, but with this many people this safternoon may get worse !!
- I could not get in the General Session. I was late because I had to take a conference call. When I got to the General Session I was told the auditorium was full and to go
to an “overflow” room where there was a simulcast. When I saw that was full too I gave up. I went outside and took a break.
I also know that many people had registration problems. There was a special line for “handling problems”. One of my co-workers’ was told he was not registered, but he got it straightened out – except he can’t eat the conference lunch or got to the partner reception tonight.
